For years I used a curler and Maybelline mascara. Always worked great, but the last 6 or 7 years they go limp soon after I apply masacara. I know my hair has thinned over the years, but I'm anxious for any tips.

Use Vaseline or Mascara, and if you don't want the colour of the black mascara get the clear stuff. You can also use a tiny bit of hair gel

If you use a two step mascara system, the curl will stay better. Apply the clear or white product, allow to dry, curl, apply the color product.

Maybelline makes a good one, XXL. (link 1)

The Great Lash line has a clear, if you can find it. Use it the same way as above with your present color. (link 2)

They also make a product just for curling. I haven't tried this one but it might be worth a test run, since Maybelline does mascara as well or better than anyone else!

Good Luck!

I just read this: Use an eyelash curler, counting to 15 with each squeeze. Comb lashes with a lash comb. Using brown-black mascara (It looks more natural) with an arched wand (it applies better because it's the same shape as curled lashes), lightly roll the wand back and forth once on a tissue before applying, to avoid clumps. Wait for lashes to dry, then comb again.

Use a curling mascara. Yeah, as we get older our lashes loose their ability to hold their curl. I've found L'Oreal and Max Factor make a couple of really great curling mascara's.
Sure, they cost a little more than old Maybelline good stand-by, but as the L'Oreal commercial says...We're Worth It!

I tend to use a lighter and heat up my curler before using it. It helps hold the curl a lot longer.

heat up your lash curler a little with the hair dryer, not too hot, and it will curl and last much longer.

Try a new mascara.
Also, bring your eyelash curler with you in your purse and use when needed.
