Simply put, when alcohol is metabolized it yields CNS depressants which repress inhibitions while impairing mental and motor function. So, some people become what they wouldn't while their inhibitions were functioning, and some people act out their repressed hostilities. Adding fuel to that fire are the compounding diminished rational and speech processes which unintoxicated persons may choose to use to resolve disputes rather than turning to their fists.

Of course, some folks just like to get hammered, raise hail and kick @rse!

Good Question.

I think it is because people drink to relax and escape... now for some people (alcoholics) it can be a big problem.
There is only so much you can "escape" from in this world. When a person has been avoiding all their personal issues and feelings by drowning them in booze, it will eventually creep back into their consciousness and they will not be able to fight it any longer - no matter how much they drink.
That is when the anger sets in... and all their friends go home.

If you have a friend that drinks to avoid responsibility - do them the favor of a lifetime and refer them to an AA meeting. They might be angry about it but it might save their life.

Alchohol is a drug, and drugs effect diferent personalities in diferent ways,I worked with a man who somtimes went for a drink in his dinner hour,in the morning he kept his head down, did his work, and was quiet and a bit reserved, after dinner he would loudly tell any one who would listen that he was the best darts player in the world.

Every person has two elements: Yin and Yang. They are in us, and in everything we do. It is the purpose of education and cultur to get the best results from this temperamental mix.
But when one's thoughts and judgements are impeded, as it is when drinking alcohol, the balance is lost and it can lead to very bad behaviour, such as insults, violence and abuse.

Personalities? Sometimes I think that people react the way they do not only because of the drinking but because of their personalities are brought out that have been hidden.

i think it depends on how much alchohal, and also the age, and even how they are normaly. if u hide ur anger from the world and then drink, it will all come out. if u let ppl no wat ur feeling when ur feeling it, u mite not be as angered when you drink. also, the more alchohol the worse you are, i think. younger ppl usualy just pass out, while older ppl get mad.
