Are all conservatives ignorant rednecks?

Well until a few days ago I would have jumped all over this question making fun of rednecks AND conservatives but I can't now.
I met this guy a few days ago... OMG total redneck... country music, drinking A LOT of budweiser beer, tattoos (one on his arm is the confederate flag),... Then as we were talking a bit he says the most shocking thing that just threw all my stereotyping out the window. He said, "I'm a democrat. I'm a union man."
We even went on to talk and all the things I had 'assumed' about him were completely wrong. He is a rough tough man but completely believes in women's rights and even though he comes across like a possible bigot, he couldn't care less what anybody else does with their life. Oh and he adopted his ex-wife's bi-racial child.
I'm still tripping at this guy being a democrat.

It appears from your question that ignorance is not confined to "Rednecks". I am a redneck and a conservative republican whom just happens to maybe not quite fit your stereotype of "ignorant". I am a degreed electrical engineer but also like Budweiser beer. Unfortunately, for you, I happen to not live in a "trailer" but have a rather large ranch in south Texas with a little ol' six bed room house. (It even has indoor plumbing and electric lights. Last week we got sliced bread at Orvilles general store) I guess that in your opinion I would fit the redneck mold since I also listen to country and western music instead of rap and rock. However, I am married to a lady with a masters in music and is an accomplished classical pianist. Incidentally, she is also an ignorant conservative whom attended one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. Speaking of ignorant, how many languages do you speak? I am fluent in Spanish, French, Arabic, Japanese, and have a communicating knowledge of Indonesian and Korean.

Conservative- Well mannered and able to convey thoughts in a manner which can be understood.
Redneck- Usually poor and not tactful in the least.
Redservative - Somone who dresses and acts like a redneck 90% of the time, but is also quite capable of conveying ideas and beleifs in an educated manner. Also known as a city redneck

A redneck is willing to fight at the drop of a hat, they use their fists to solve their problems. A Conservative is one who agrees with the founding fathers of our country. A Conservative will use the legal means to accomplish his or her agenda. In general a Conservative is one who believes in God and country.The two are not the same.

You have a very biased attitude. What is an ignorant redneck anyway? Anyone under the sun who disagrees with you?
Conservatives are people who want to thoroughly weigh a political and social possibility before agreeing to it, as opposed to Liberals who will agree to anything that comes up because they hope it will balance out every bit of racism and bias they've put out over their lifetimes.

everyone is getting very defensive.. but what people typically consider rednecks make up the majority of the red states.. statistically "rednecks" are often conservative... not all, but most are
