Try Meebo. (http://www15.meebo.com/)
"meebo, the web's instant messenger, lets you access IM from absolutely anywhere. meebo supports msn, yahoo, aol/aim, google talk (gtalk), jabber and icq." -- meebo
Meebo works great. Irrespective of where you are, as long as you have an Internet connection, Meebo will work for you.
PC World has an article about Meebo "IM via the Web" -- pcworld (http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,123790,pg,7,00.asp)

Messanger needs to be installed. And if the sign in auto box is checked, sign out of the other person's account, uncheck the box, and sign in yourself.
