get involved in gay events-such as join a gay sports league, or go to a church that has a large membership of gay people. make friends with a lesbian, there are a lot of lesbians who have a large and diverse group of friends, and it allows you to make friends with other gays in a non sexual setting. you can meet friends in bars and clubs, but you got to watch out that people don't get the wrong idea-unless that's what you're looking for. and don't limit yourself to just gays and lesbians, there are many great gay friendly straight and bisexual people out there.

Talk to people, at the start dont really care what they want, you need to make sure they like the real you. If you want gay friends then go to a gay support group, if you just want any friends, join a group, sports team, or activity that appeals to you, maybe you will meet people that really get along with you, if not keep trying, eventually you will get the best friends you could possibly want, it may take awhile but when you do, they will always be at your side.

Usually this question comes up right after comming out. Many of the friends you had will distance them selves from you and you will be seeking people more like yourself. The best way is to take time and be yourself do the things you like to do and talk to people. For instance, if you like to read join a book club, if you like the zoo volunteer at the zoo. Eventually you will have more friends that accept you for you. I wore a little rainbow pin on my shirt for years just so that people would know who I was. I didnt have to explain anything and if they wanted to be my friend they knew what to expect.

you can always contact me I will gladly be your friend . I broke up with my lover of 15 yrs. and I needed friends , I tried a personals site as well as clubs ect . I have met more people on yahoo answers that have become good friends that any other way . good luck

You could try to go to a chat room, yahoo has one for gay men and for lesbian women, maybe you can find other people there.

Try going to a gay and lesbien AA or NA meeting. Even if you're not a drunk or a druggie. You'll meet endless great friends, I promise!
