Yes. It sends mixed messages, which can be very frustrating for the guy. Especially if the guy happens to think that you are attractive. He's almost certainly hoping that you will start to like him. Especially if he's single, I'll guarantee that he likely doesn't want to be.
So flirting sends the message "I really do like you", and if you are at all attractive in body, personality, or especially both, chances are he would really like to date you, possibly more than simply date you.
Thus, flirting like that allows the unsuspecting male to develop false hopes, and chances are that nobody has ever told the guy the truth of the matter, that you don't actually see him as a potential significant other.

Honestly, I dont think its bad at all. (Coming from a serial flirter here too lol) Although if you continue to flirt even though you're already hooked up with someone--then that's bad for you and your rep.
And hey, if you already have the reputation of being a big flirt, it doesnt really matter that much anyways. So keep on flirtin', girl.

being a guy, i've had that happen to me before, and yes, it does suck for the guy to be flirted with a lot, and yet, know that the girl doesn't even like him...so, be careful how flirtatious you with guys you don't like...it could end up hurting them, or yourself.

yes i think it is because males dont see things in the same way as us females, they probably wont respect you and see you as someone that just want a shag, not the fact that we just like to have a bit of a laugh
