I think the Buffalo Sabres has the good young team right now and will be the team to beat in the east. In the west, the San Jose Sharks should be the top team in west and league. I think the playoffs are different season, I would go the Anahiem Ducks next year. They went deep this year with a lot of rookies and most of there team is already signed. J-S Gigure will be there only major lost do to free agency. The have new ownership, new look, and coming off this past playoffs. Look out.
Don't be surprise next year if you see these four teams that were not in the playoffs this year in next year.
1. Vancouver Canucks- with the big trade and goal stabalized.
2. New Islanders- Ted Nolan is back. He works wonders with players.
3. Atlanta Thrashers- they want to be in the playoffs badly.
4. Washington Capitals- they are stockpiling so much young talent. And there minor league team won the AHL's Calder Cup.
But take Anaheim as of 7-2-06

Sorry but Washington won't go because ONE player. Come on you need more talent then ONE player. Rangers proably will have the same type of problem. The scoring relied so heavily on Jagr that when he was hurting in the first round they had like no chance of advancing. I really would like to see them get the Cup this year for him though. If we want to go by dreaming I'd say the Penguins, since they are my team, they have some great potential and maybe in 2-3 years they will be in the playoffs again. As to the realistic chances well stranger things have happened but it isn't likely. I'd say without set rosters we can't really give a good pick. Still alot of free agency type deals and player's decisions coming up.

The Ducks. They played with 7 (count them) rookies deep into the playoffs. They will be so much better next year. They are the team to watch.

I gotta go with Carolina. Why not a repeat? They still have most of the team intact!
