The Universe is a closed, boundless space. That means that it has a limited space, but does not have an edge.
Think of the Earth. Where is the edge of the Earth? You could walk or sail all over the Earth and never reach an "end," although eventually you would start to see familiar things. ("Didn't we pass South America before?") And yet the Earth has a limited surface area.
The Universe has the same properties in three dimensions. It is warped closed in at least a fourth spatial dimension. (String theory postulates at least 17 spatial dimensions, but most of them are coiled around each other, and we only use three.) In any case, no matter what direction you start out in, eventually you come back around the other side.

The surface of the Earth has no end, and you could travel east forever, and...
The universe has no end -- in more ways than the surface of the Earth has no end -- because every direction is out from the center, and leads to the center; and every point in the universe is, practically speaking, the center of the universe.

there seems to be missunderstandings in the reserch that some teachers do there is no wrong answer to weather theres an end to the universe or not some people say there is an some people say that its not but who would really know for sure so i'd guess we would hve to wait an see what happens in the next 10 years (theres always something new )

the universe seems to be finite yet boundaryless. it has no edge and no center. it may be something like the two dimensional surface of a sphere. also, nothing exists "outside" the universe. to quote a dead writer, "there's no there, there".

scientists think that the universe will continue to expand to a point but then snap back together again, like a rubberband. but no one really knows for sure.
