A chimp is not a monkey. All other considerations aside, the fact that you do not know this is proof enough that you have no business "adopting" anything. Besides, Chimpanzees are endangered and can not be legally bought or sold- even "adopted"

Search the Internet, that will help, and maybe call a local zoo or pet shop.

If you search the Internet search: Adopting baby monkeys or How to adopt a baby monkey.

That should help you out!!!!

there is a place called PAWS that rescues and adopts out monkeys and other animals.http://www.pawsweb.org/site/animals/index_primates.htm
Just a word of advise, and I am sure you will be told this when you inquire about adoption, different states have different laws about having a monkey, you have to have a liscense, and it is really not a good idea to have them around other animals. they are a full time job, like a child. good luck !

Listen to Cicel. You have to have permits for something like that. Apes are not some disposable pet. When they hit sexual maturity it's no longer some cute little "pet". Apes should not be domesticated as a household pets. Educate yourself first. Maybe you can do some volunteer work for your local zoo to learn more about apes in general.

I have heard that you have to fill out all kinds of paper work from the goverment or some high up organization before you can. and remember they live a long time it is like having a child forever.

eww. My mom's dad brought one home when she was a kid, and all he would do is jack *ff constantly..all over the walls. My mom's mother said, get him out of here or I'm leaving. Needless to say the Monkey didn't last long. I'm serious.. They're very smart, but nasty.
