well I know if at my work they would turn down the AC not only wouldd I not feel like I am in a freezer but it woul have to save more then probably 1000 cars, its so cold I have a jacket on and am still cold, bunch of old lady's are still to hot, its strange.

Have you ever seen the show "Mythbusters"?
The belief that we spend gas if we use our cars' AC is false. You actually spend MORE gas if you drive with your windows rolled down because they affect the aerodynamics and slow you down. So, if we all stopped using our AC, we wouldn't save any gas.

I use it when I really need it, then its worth every penny. If you want to save money, take the A/C system right out of your car and save gas on having a lighter car.

Well if he drove with our windows open, probably not much since opening the windows increases wind resistance.

Now maybe if people used fans instead of AC at home, it might make a big difference.

Not much.
Instead you'd turn down your window and that would result in the same spillage.
