This is a picture of an SV650 with some kind of modification under the engine. It's the part that covers the exhaust after it leaves the engine(same color as the gas tank) I was wondering if this peice serves some kind of purpose...maybe aerodynamic/engine guard??? I was wondering if someone could tell me the name and maybe where to find it. I just bought an SV650 and thought it would look really cool on the bike and even cooler if it served a purpose. Here is the pic. Thanks.

This piece is called a chin spoiler and is totally cosmetic. I think it's cool too.

It's called a bellypan fairing and is mainly cosmetic. Some tracks require you to have one when racing in order to catch any spilled oil or other fluids.

It's not an air scoop as others have stated. The SV is liquid cooled: has a radiator and a fan to cool it already. Plus, it's a naked bike, how would covering it in plastic help dissapate heat?

It's an air scoop to help cool the air cooled engine

here are some pics of different bikes you can view but Im not sure if they have these scoops.

It's called a "scoop". Lower/engine air scoop. It helps to direct air up to your motor to help cool it.
