My favorite chick lit books...

Anything by Jennifer Crusie --Bet Me is my favorite, just a great romantic comedy, Min's ex-boyfriend bets playboy Cal that he can't get Min into bed (a feat he never accomplished during the months they were together) and hilarity ensues. Great book, great characters. You can't go wrong with this one.

Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin--one of the best books I've read in a loooooong time. Just a great solid story about a girl who sleeps with her best friend's fiance on her 30th birthday.

Good Grief by Lolly Winston. A woman loses her husband at a young age. The path she follows is both heartbreaking and hilarious.

I think the Bridget Jones's Diary books are some of the all-time great chick-lit books. Don't know if you would classify them as lit though... But they describe and define a lot of women so well and are also very funny.

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, if you like more modern, contemporary stories. Also, don't know if this fits in "chick-lit" but the time traveler's wife was incredible. Just finished it.
