When you say clean sand I assume you are referring silica free sand? Play sand sold at Lowe's and Home Depot contain silica which causes cancer. It is amazing to me that this sand is sold as "play" sand to children and I hope you can spread the word.

call your local redi-mix concrete company and ask for washer sand or masonary sand. give them dimensions(length, width and depth) and they will calculate the volume for you.

gravel pitts,it's as clean as your going to get,or Farm-King, and or Farm and fleet stores.some garden houses has it to ,I'd check out your local florist's shop, if they don't have it maybe they can steer ya to the right place to get it.
