I just find reading textbooks to be very boring. I'd rather go out and have fun that stay in and study, especially since I've graduated.

Note: I do have to study for professional reasons

One way I used to handle the boredom of studying - especially reading textbooks - was this:

If I had three textbooks I needed to read, I would set my alarm on my watch for 30 minutes. Each 30 minutes it would go off, I would switch to a different book, and read until it went off again. After I read each book for 30 minutes, I would get to read a book of mine (something fun) for 30 minutes.

That way I wasn't bored, and got a "reward" each hour for having completed reading in books I "had" to read.

What ARE you still doing there then?

Get a good teacher. Really, having a motivated teacher makes a world of difference.

Either that or YOU find something you like. Else find a job that has some learning curve to it. Then you would study for professional reasons.

I found studying to be more enjoyable if I had my ipod with me. Another tactic I used was heading to the library and setting a deadline...I used to get really distracted in my dorm room. While it was still boring in the library, I was done faster and could therefore enjoy myself.
