Are British people more stuck up than Americans?

NO! British people are much more kind than yanks. I have never met a British person I did not like. I have met very few Yanks that I actually l liked.

Being an American living in Britain I think that the Americans are possibly the worst people in the world. Some Brits, especially young ones with money, are very stuck up, but the vast majority of Americans I know are so out of tune with the rest of the world to actually believe their own spin. They actually can't believe that someone would prefer to live in a country other than America when they have a chance. I am sick of being asked when I am going to move back. Never! I can't stand the false senserity and complete lack of respect for anyone who does not think exactly as they do.

Far too many Americans think anyone who is not American is some sort of sub-species. Is that stuck up or just arrogance?

Most Brits go with the flow and join in with others on equal terms. Yanks tend to try and dictate terms.

But watch this space, Russia and China are expanding their economies fast. How long before America becomes the second or third power in the world. Perhaps when they realise what is coming they will climb down and join the rest of the world.

From my own experience I believe that American and British people outside of their own countries are different to those who are resident in their respective countries. I do not find either nation stuck up or snobbish but I do accept that one can get the wrong impression when visiting either country.

i don't think they have a reason to be stuck up. They have bad food and worse weather, plus we kicked their butt in the war for american independance. They rely on us for military support and they have bad teeth. Now that the stereotypes are all said, i don't think any people should be stuck up and chicks with british accents are hot!

I have been to the states and I have been to England (Which is what I assume you mean by british) and the English are far more stuck up than the americans.

Remember folks that Americans originally are Brits anyway.
Living in both countries, I can honestly say the Americans are NOT stuck up at all, in fact they are the opposite (talking people not politics).
Brits on the other hand, are very arrogant and dead cold feeling wise, but in general they are smarter than Americans.

Personally I don't find them stuck up at all, at least the ones I've met. They are a bit more reserved until you get to know them. They don't have a get in your face, tell all or I know everything attitude. And their sense of humor is great.

I think Americans are the most stuck up on the planet.We are arrogant,self entitled,spoiled rotten and selfish.But I guess I can only speak for myself.I have never met a Brit.I know a German and she thinks the US sucks,she wants to go back to Germany.
