Oh come ON, go and get some REAL metal bands, not that commercial NU fake stuff. That's NOT metal. Metallica were only metal up to the black album.
These are all TRUE metal bands, no NU crap:
Judas Priest, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Falconer, Masterplan, Freedom Call, Grave Digger, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Edguy, Sonata Arctica, Turisas, Dream Evil, Helloween, Motorhead....

im not too familiar with the more recent bands, but some of my favorite 80's and 90s metal bands are of course metallica, megadeth, anthrax, suicidal tendencies, and the misfits. i also like tool and korn

Earlier Tool is very much metal, but their other stuff is also metal, albeit "progressive," I suppose.
Mudvayne is very good. I suggest Dig and Happy by them.
Cold's first album is pretty good; it's self-titled. Particularly the song Give.
I don't know, the past month I've been listening to Classic Rock.
