I'm 41, I've had tans my whole life, I've never wore makeup to the beach, Always had men all around me, my skin is soft and smooth. You go to the beach to tan and socialize. But make-up don't fit in the pic, it don't look natural. So Y ?

If you are 41, and you go to the beach to tan, I doubt that your skin is soft and smooth...
FYI - Radiation is harmful, a bare face can attract just as much radiation than a face that has makeup....
AND just because 'other women' wear makeup to the beach doesn't mean they will end up with a rough face and wrinkles. Women that wear makeup there probably wear it to look their best AND get the protection they need in makeup that contains SPF protection anyway, so they are doing more good then YOU ARE.

As other people have said, it's because a little sun isn't all they're hoping to catch. I don't see what's wrong with wearing something subtle and natural-looking - say, waterproof mascara and lip gloss - at the beach.
I do think it's foolish to get a tan in the first place (either out in the sun or on a tanning bed), though. People who do that have skin that looks like shoe leather by the time they're 40. Not attractive!

What I know is that when women go out to tan on the beach with taht sexy bikini, and millions of muscular men looking at them, they don't want to show up with a pimplyy face, pale lips and such.
Most tanning woman are single, so they want to look thei personal best to meet someone. It isn't just because they WANT to wear makeup, for the sake of it, it is because of the sake of men.

Women don't go to the beach to get a tan or enjoy the weather they go to pick up men.
Men don't like girls who don't wear make-up.

I think they are insecure with their appearence. I know some girls that never leave the house with out makeup on. Not me I like the natural look. People say I do not need it. I see a lot of girls that wear a lot and they do not need it.

They want others to think they look good but some make up ends up acting like sunblock. The make up will also run down their face when they get in the water or sweat. It's best not to wear any, in my opinion.

it doesn't matter what you think, other women want to wear makeup to the beach, that is what they like, so leave them alone...
If you are 41 and still going out in the sun, that is harmful!
You best be wearing sunblock and anti-wrinkling cream whenever you go out in the sun, grandma!

because there are some makeup with spf that is quite good to wear on the beach if ya want to look hot hot and it protects your skin also you can find it any where at grocery stores and pharmacies

I know someone who covers a birthmark on her face, that's why she wears makeup. Also, some women just don't like the way they look without makeup, or they are not used to it
