ooooh are you trying to quote that alan jackson song "where were you when the world stopped turning"?

"...I'm just a singer of simple songs, I'm not a real political man. I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference 'tween Iraq and Iran. But I know Jesus and I talk to God, and I remember this from when I was young: Faith, hope, and love are some good things he gave us, but the greatest is love..."

Best 9/11 song yet. Beats anything comin' from Toby Keith!

Iraq is the country which America invaded recently whereas Iran is the country which is under the threat of American invasion. The essential difference is tens of thousands of innocent dead people.

Iraq, pre war, was a sunni muslim secular dictatorship run by Saddam Hussein. However, Iraq is predominantly shiite muslim (or shia). Iran is also predominantly shiite but is a theological dictatorship. Iran is very restrictive in it's moral code. Women are not allowed to do much at all. Western style dress can lead you to big trouble if you are a woman.

a ton... enough to fight a huge war in the 80s... and for Saddam to use chemical weapons against them... he didn't even use chemical weapons against us in the Iraq war...

religion and governmental style were completely different... of course now that Iraq is a democracy, they could just elect a government very similar to Iran...

of course this is vastly simplified, but if they were the same, they would get along

They are two different countries. The two countries are right next to each other. They had a war against each other from 1980 to 1988.
