Just follow the fuel line from the gas tank to your fuel rails on your car. Most cars you can't miss them because they are either right by your gas tank or located adjacent to your pinch weld by your frame. An one more thing in case you didn't already know there is an arrow on the fuel filter itself pointing the direction of fuel flow from your gas tank to your engine. When you take it off put it to your mouth and blow through it with your mouth. If you feel air or gas comes out the other end that means it's not clogged. If you can't detect air or gas isn't coming out then you need to replace it. I know it sounds a little crazy but thats the way you check them. I have worked on transmissions for years and sometimes what people thought was a problem with their trans was just a clogged fuel filter. Hope this helps you out.
