is there any free search engines I can post my site on?

You can list your site on most se's. Just go the home page for that engine, i.e. yahoo or google search, and do a search for the relevant field that your site should be on. Somewhere on the results page, usually near the bottom, will be a link "submit a site", "submit your site" or similar. That's it.

most search engines permit you to submit your website's URL for free.

usually you only pay if you want priority placement in searches.
