You got a couple of options. Be it that you didn't mention a budget, you can do it the old fashion way and visit your local post office and write some addresses out the book. Depending on how big an area you want to cover should tell you how much you will have to write. On the other hand, if you want to get fancy then you have to hire a mailing service who will give you a list based on exactly who you want to reach. For example, if you want to target restaurants, clothing stores, specific types of restaurants or clothing stores, gas stations, etc. Than can give you the detail list so it will not waste your postage but these list will cost you depending on how big the territory is or home many people your trying to reach. Keep in mind if you do the post office book you'll have to do your homework in determining which streets are populated with businesses. Otherwise, you'll be sending your post cards to residential and businesses. The post office is also a good source for a referral for a mailing service company. And, of course you can look up a mailing service company in the phone book.

Go to Yahoo and type LEADS in the search box.
You will find all kinds of mailing lists for all kinds of prices.
Some are better than others.
I am considering doing the same thing with my business.
My upline has a list of lead services that he uses but I don't have it in front of me right now.
He purchased 1000 leads complete with names, street addresses, phone numbers, and emails for $75.
You can also purchase them already printed on mailing labels.
What kind of business do you operate?

Or see if your town (or the town you are looking to mail in) has the information available online, as it is public information.
