Nope. The Germans can't beat better teams. They did alright in the group stage, but once they got a real rival (Argentina), they tied, just like they had tied the last two games with Argentina. They only won because they had the ref and the crowd on their side and they had, quite conveniently, injured Argentina's PK-specialist goalkeeper.
Italy, protect your goalie at all costs and the Germans will leave the field crying.
As for France-Portugal, I really have no idea what to make of this game. I didn't expect either of them to make it this far.

Did I hear you say "do the Portuguese have what it takes to beat France ?" - How do you think Portugal reached this stage of the WC and how do you think Portugal ALWAYS reaches the last stages of all major tournaments ? Or didn't you know that ? Let's take today's victory against England. --England offered no resistence so Portugal played so-so. Pressure of penalties and Portugal excelled. I sure hope so. More important is whether Portugal can beat France? Truthfully of all the teams I have the most confidence in the Germans simply because they play has been so consistantly strong.

I hope the Portuguese beat France up and down the field!And it would be good for the Germans to win .I mean there is nothing worse than being beat in you're own country.
