First off That list is really bad. Your looking for the 10 best players....well why do you give these guys those positions? I mean Tom brady lead his team to alot alot alot of victories. Ben Rothensburger isnt on there and he took his last seeded team to a superbowl victory. Now if this is a list by the people...than the people are not doing too well. The number one Reciver isnt even on there (Terrel Owens) Sorry Champ but that list..is wack. For number ten position though. I'd give it to Warren Sapp.

To answer your question..I'll say Tiki Barber...based on his stats from the past few years (nearly 1900 rushing yards last year, I think he got 11 TD's combined)...and his importance to his team. Without him, the Giants offense wouldn't go anywhere...having a running back like Barber was vital in Manning's development, as it made sure there was a viable option to execute the offense in case Manning couldn't get the job done. This fact, combined with the fact that Barber has led the league in yards from scrimmage for the past two years, makes him the most productive player (statistically and in his ability to lead his team to victories) not on the list; and thus, I believe Tiki Barber should be the 10th "best" player in the league.
However, it's impossible to quantify or rank together players of different positions all in one list. Are you asking for "best" in terms of statistical production? Or perhaps "best" in the sense that they are the emotional leaders of a team and they provide unmeasurable intangibles necessary for their team to win?
I understand that these are people's opinions,,,but who is to say that Michael Vick is a "better" player than Carson Palmer? What is he better than Palmer at? 40-yd dash? 20 yd shuttle? leaping ability? his ability to lead his team to victory? again... There's no way to judge who is the "best" unless you specify among positions and statistics...ex: If I said Greg Jones is a better player than Peyton Manning because Jones rushed for 530 more yards than Manning did...would you agree? A more realistic comparison would be...say among QB's...who's better in terms of passing yards/TD's/passer rating etc...

Isn't it weird that every 'best' list never inlcudes DEFENSE? How about Ed Reed on your list? Julius Peppers? Urlacher has to be in there somewhre.
