Yes, or rather sort of. I think marriage is a religious thing and up to the church- but of course all people should have equal rights, legally, no matter what kind of relationship they're in.

And personally, I'm against abortion in 'most' situations- but do understand that it's not something you can legislate against. I'm over 50 and in really bad health. I've always wanted kids, but if I got pregnant today the baby 'would' be born with serious birth defects because of medications I'm on and I wouldn't survive- which means neither would the baby. That might be a good exception in which I'd opt for an abortion. No sense in both of us dying.

And I'd love to see more counseling encouraged, and some way to stop women who use abortion as their only birth control. Who knows when life begins? When does the rights of the child supersede that of the woman carrying it?

It's not a black and white issue, as you can see.

of course there are people that feel the same as you.....that's your own free will to decide......me on the other hand am opposite.....I have a gay brother and plenty of gay/bi friends........but am against gay marriage and more for abortion than against it. My reasons.....Marriage was meant to be between a man and a woman, and I feel if you are going to take your partner before GOD it should be the way he intended.....there are plenty of other special ceremonies to join two people, or they can have there own special bond like marriage........I am completely for everyone to be happy, even my loved ones but again I feel it's wrong to take a same sex partner before GOD to unite.
for abortion......there are special circumstance it is needed to save lives.......If a mother has a heart condition and can die from giving birth I believe it is her right to decide.....I had to have a D and C from miscarrying twins recently.......if I would have miscarried naturally I could have died from loosing too much blood.....after the procedure I still had to have two blood transfusions but if i wouldn't have made that decision I may not be here right now.....abortion for stupidity on the other hand is wrong-there is no reason you should kill a healthy embryo....there are so many good people out there that would be great parents that just can have children

I'm not against gay marriage, but I have a problem with abortions.

I don't believe in either. But I do think that having an abortion is much more wrong. I really don't think theres any such thing as gay "marriages". Thats between a man and a woman. But I don't dislike people if they are gay.

Theres nothing wrong with gay marriage.. Gay people are staying together for years anyway all it does is give them the rights with it.
As far as abortion I think it's a horrible thing to be able to have sex and not take responsiblity for your actions (sure there are special cases) Some women use it as a form of birth control and it makes me sick..

Actually, im exactly the opposite. im against gay marriage and for abortion. My sister was pregnant with her baby and if she had it, the baby would live up to 5 yrs old and be in pain in & out of the hospital. so in some cases, im for abortion. Well, in most cases unless your old enogh and youre notuseing it as b contro.

I don't think there can be such a thing as legal gay marriage because there is no legal definition of "gay" and no way to prove it.

I think you are talking about "same gender" marriage. If this were legal it would be available to both "straight" and "gay" people. Just like "different gender marriage" is currently available to both "straight" and "gay" people.

The decision about whether our society should have a legal same-gender marriage should be based on what we think marriage is for.
