My favorite is "The Day of the Storm" by Rosamunde Pilcher. I have been reading it once a year since I was 21. It is relaxing and has great descriptions of Cornwall and other places in England.

Wuthering Heights is the best romantic book ever, but it isn't a light and fluffy read and it might not be the type of thing you are looking for.

All the Liaden novels by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. I love them all. They are called space operas. I don't know what that's supposed to mean but the are science fictiony.
