Your question should have been. How do I screw up my microwave ?
You know well what will happen to the CD, but what it will do to your microwave, keep guessing. The shining (like mirror) part of the CD will re-direct microwaves in randon directions & when the CD melts, the overheated plastic (a Poly vinyl chloride product) will catch fire.

A chain reaction could occur, resulting in release of tremendous energy, enough to vaporize not only the microwave but also your house and maybe the entire neighborhood.
Might be a good thing.

you'll screw up the microwave as their are metallics in CDs. Depending on how long you have it in, you might melt it as well. WHY waste your time, if you are bored, go read a book.

Radiation would destroy the metal and fibres in the CD, eventually destroying it, along with your microwave.
