I have only one USB 2.0 on my computer. I have 8 USB; the rest are 1.0. How can I tell which one is 2.0? Device manager says it is located here: PCI bus 0, device 29, function 7. I need it for faster exchange with my external hard drive.

I've never heard of a computer with BOTH USB 1 & 2 UNLESS someone installed a USB 2 CARD.

Anyway, the PCI 0 is telling you that the USB 2 is installed in the 1st (0) slot on your motherboard.

One way to find the PCI 0 slot is to look in your owner's manual.
Another way is to open your case and look for very small print by the PCI slots for PCI 0 printed on the motherboard by the PCI slots.

Note: The PCI 0 slot is going to be either the FIRST slot on the Right or Left hand side of the slots.

Use a USB 2.0 compliant device such as a flash drive and plug it in to each port. They will give a message that says you have plugged a high-speed device into a lower speed port or something to that effect. The port that does not come up with this message is your USB 2.0 port.
