1).Olvera Street is a nice touristy place to visit.

2).Encounters Restaurant at LAX is quite unique as restaurants go. That's the restaurant on top of the modern looking structure in the middle of the airport. It's cool with lava lamps and stuff. I was hoping the restaurant revolves, but it doesn't.

3).The San Antonio Winery is a nice place for wine tasting, and wine tours. The grapes are grown somewhere else, but it is a nice place to visit.

4). Magic Mountain is a fun amusement park, (but there are rumors that it maybe closing soon due to real estate developers eyeing the park, and turning it into some ugly tract homes. Also crowds of people have created traffic tie ups around the park.) There is a group trying to block the park closing, but who knows how effective that will be. Anyway, that would a nice amusement park to visit, while it lasts.

Don't know much about LA, but if you wanna take a lil drive you should head down to Laguna Beach here in orange county. Right now they are having the art festivals not to mention great beach weather. There are alot of great restaurants w/ magnificent veiws and atmosphere. Newport Beach is great as well, lot's of fun things to do during the day and bar hoping at night.

A first time.. The Big Apple...
You could visit Golden Gate Bridge. That's a must see.
The white house, should not miss that.
The world's largest ball of twine. She'd hate to miss that.

Check this. After the hotels it advises on places to see and restaurants to frequent.

Have a nice time.

I'd say skip the typical LA stuff and go hiking in Fryman Canyon. Or go to the Santa Monica Pier--I think they have free music in the summer on the weekends. Chinatown is fun too for shopping and drinks.
