what is the best way to paint trim and base boards with oil based paint?its so messy and gets sticky. HELP?

I never use oil based paint. Water base is just as good, believe it or not. And much easier to use. But if you are going to use oil base paint try thinning it out a little with mineral spirts. And don't dip your brush in the paint to deep.

Tape the edges.
Put some paint in a smaller container, and leave the top off. This will make it thicker, and easier to paint with.
