Federal or Country Grand Juries? They are both selected differently.

That's the theory.

In reality, they're mostly older (retired, because it takes a lot of time) and tend toward white suburbanites. The reason is, most jurisdictions let people out of grand jury duty for stuff like job obligations, kids, and especially any criminal background.

So... the real "average" person has some criminal background... but grand jurors don't. Average people have a job or kids... etc.

They're selected from the voter registration records. Only registered voters are called for grand or petit jury.

They used to be selected by those who voted, now it is more common by drivers license!

Average. Hmmm! They come from all walks but the rich usually get out of serving!

Funny how they do nothing for the country but take!
