Truly, the healthiest option for your face is no makeup. Continually wearing foundation, etc., actually makes your face age. If you look at a woman who has never worn makeup but uses a daily moisturizer and washes her face daily, by the time she is in her 40's her skin is still soft and youthful looking. Take another woman who has always worn makeup and she'll look pale and the skin will be more worn out.

Wash your face in the morning and in the evening, or if you've been sweating a lot. But don't over-wash or it will cause you to break out more.

Use a soap for sensitive skin, don't go too heavy on face cleansers as most of them are alcohol based and hard on your skin. After you wash your face, use a face moisturizer with some kind of SPF to protect it from the sun.

Also, if you use Biore pore strips they will clean out your pores and actually cause them to look smaller. But you aren't supposed to use them over open sores.

If you have real troubled skin, talk to a dermatologist. Everyone has different skin.

Well most foundations don't seem to help with big pores but go to DermaDoctor.com, they have this stuff called Picture PoreFect Pore Minimizer, I came across an advertisement for it in a magazine. It's something you can use everyday besides foundation to help improve the apperance of your large pores. If you also have acne I would see the drematologist. If you think you have large open pores they might actually be scars from previous acne. I have some acne scarring & they do look kind of like a large pore but they are scars. A lot of time for scars you would need to get laser procedures done my your dermatologist.

First of all you can minimize the look of pores by cleansing, and using a good toner. Makeup wise, you want to get a foundation primer first, this will help even out any imperfections you feel you have, then proceed with a good foundation. Depending on how much you want to spend, I prefer anything by Clinique, it's pricy, but I have used it for almost 15 yrs, and my skin stays in good condition. You are young, and need to start a good skin regimine. Loreal has good products as well, and they are not as expensive. You do not have to have everything the same brand either. Do not use anything too heavy, but I really suggest going to a Clinique counter, let them find your exact skin type, and needs, use their products, they are worth the money, they also have pore minimizers as well. BARE MINERALS make up is good also. My mom has larger pores, and once she found Bare Minirals, she refuses to use anything else, plus it is not heavy.

I don't think you should use foundation at all, especially if you have large open pores. The pores will fill with make up and fester giving you more blackheads and acne.
Might be worth spending a bit of money and visiting a salon/beautician.
Try a tinted moisturiser or those moisturisers that give you a sunkissed look - like Johnsons holiday skin, for example. Or dust Avon's bronzing pearls over your face.
Good luck. Perhaps it might be worth seeing your GP - some women benefit from going on the pill called Yasmin, just for their acne, not for contraception.

Honey, you do not need to cover your pretty skin with some cheese make up. I highly suggest that you see a dermatologist first. Next, go see an expert at a reputable place instead of getting advice on line. There are several great lines in the market today. The Mac counter, Clinique, and Siseido counter at your local shopping center is where you will find what you need.
Sincerely,
Mr. M on skin.

Stick to makeup meant for oily/breakout prone skin. Keep an eye out for products that are "noncomedogenic" (they won't clog pores). I have acne and used to have big pores. Have you tried AcneFree (it's like Proactiv, but cheaper and I think works better)?
I like bare minerals, the mineral veil minimizes my pores and since I have very pale skin, the well rested eye shade is actually the most effective concealer I've found that doesn't clog the pores and look like cake.

First of all invest in some good cleansing products to help with you skin and always rinse with really cold water. The cold water helps close your pores. Wash with hot to open the pores and get them clean and rinse with very cold water. I even get a washcloth really cold and place it on my face after I rinse with cold to make sure I get my pores closed. This will also help prevent them from getting clogged. A really good foundation and powder compact to use is by Clinique. I have heard Bare Essentials is great, but I haven't tried it myself. Mary Kay cosmetics are also very good. I have tried the Clinique and Mary Kay and I would recommend them to anyone because they are both awesome products.

I use the JANE brand liquid concealer, which is found at Target and places like that. They might have other foundation as well.

For open pores they may recommend a face wash/exfoliant as opposed to using soap to wash your face. If you were to go to a make-up counter (at a department store) to get a make-over. They also might be able to give you some good ideas to get your face more evenly toned.

Try attacking your skin's issues first. Your make up will look better with a good canvas. Get a microdermabrasion kit, the one from neutrogena is great. Follow the directions and use it faithfully. It's going to even out your skin and make it look fresher. And it's going to help with the acne and the tired look. Then use a foundation with reflecting particles, revlon skinlights will help. Drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep, and eat healthy. Avoid sugar and refined carbs. Good luck.

First of all, it is normal to have acne at your age. Be patient, it will get better. If you want to use a concealer under your foundation, Cover Girl has a good one. It will cover acne, scars, etc.
