No. i think even with Rooney's reputation of being a dirty fouling git....he didn't deserve to be sent off...and that's saying something when I hate the guy.
But i know what you mean, no Beckham, Rooney or Owen not playing..they make the England team.
And in the name of God I hope Frank Lampard doesn't get on the team next time...he isn't good enough to be bad.

The top 11 reasons England lost:
1. The manager is a strategically inept idiot. The lone striker strategy didn not work against equador, Beckham's brilliant free kick won us that game, not Sven. Why the **** did he keep that system? Why did he keep a system in which Rooney, (A known hot-head) would be kept without sufficient service, therefore guarenteeing a frustrated Roonie. A red card waiting to happen.
2. Rooney did not and never has shown the level of talent to rate him as an all-time great, or even as our best player, even when fit. Beckham, Owen, Lampard, Gerrard, when on form are every bit as good. Yes he tries hard, and yes he is determined, but he is not all that, and certainly NOT good enough to be a lone striker. he proved that against a miserable Equador side, So why keep him in that role? He is the most over-rated English player in history.
3. the media way OVERHYPING Rooney. how can they forgive themselves for the amount of pressure and expextation they have put in his young, overpaid and undertalented head?
4. Portugal's Goalie cheating in the penalties, "I wasn't ready," no and you failed to save the ******* goal, you shouldn't get another chance! you cheating bastard!
5. The ref. Biased, blind and as much of a cheat as the Portugese.
6. Ronaldo's constant bad sportsmanship.
7. Beckhams weak leadership, he's past his best, overpaid and undertalented.
8. WHY OH WHY WAS LAMPARD EVER ALLOWED ON THE PITCH? when a player has more attempts on goal than any other player and misses EVERY ******* ONE??? that's a hint that he is SH1T! off form and unlucky. shame for him, but if you want to win, put people on the pitch who look like they can score a goal.
9. Useless finishing! The England players looked like they had figured out how to defend, win the ball, get it up the other end of the pitch, into the opposing side's area, but then had no ******* clue what to do with the ball then. They actually looked like they had forgotten what the point of the game is? a clue: the aim is NOT to prevent your opposing side from scoring. Although useful, it is not the aim. the aim is to SCORE GOALS! you know, that retangular white frame with a net. the ball is supposed to go IN to that!
10. WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT ABOUT TAKING A PENALTY? Just boot the fucker as HARD as you can! don't try to be clever and side foot it in slowly! BANG THE FUCKER IN!
11. The English team are a pampered over paid goup of prima-donnas who do not understand the psychology of winning, why should they? They still have their mansions, Range Rovers, Mercs and WAGS getting all the STAR treatment.
Here's an IDEA, for every goal they let in, we charge all the players a percentage of thier income. for every goal scored, we pay them.
I would say, if they loose we shoot their children, but some people might think that cruel. I bet they would win then though.
Please excuse the swearing and spelling mistakes, but I am P1SSED OFF!

Well, let's face it, we weren't going anywhere with an Argentinian ref. I don't think it's Rooney's fault. Yes, the stamp was out of order, but surely he should have been given a yellow first, as a warning and a discoragement.
I thought that refs were supposed to only use the red card if they really and truly had to., and that players were only to be sent off as a last resort.
It's not like Rooney had been playing aggresivly or breaking lots of rules.
Mind you, considereing the standard of the refereeing through out this world cup, it's not that suprising.
I too, am sick, as I think England deserved to win, despite not playing to their best ability.
Maybe when we actually have am English manager, next time round, we'll have a better chance.

The incident when Rooney kicked a man on his privates, would have passed but he had to be his arrogant self and srt pushing and giving the ref lip.he hasnt even been close in any game, the rest are just a load of wankers, every time they kick at goal the ball finishes in Row Z.Think about the thousands who made the trip to Germany to support you.Only to find the Cooperate world were their first.
Rooney,he never sung the national Anthem. The stone faced git,the spoilt baby, who the hell does he think he is.The country is bigger than all the prime donners we have seen representing us.
It gets worse, henman out of wimbledon,Button never performing in F1 and it goes on and on.We are the laughung stock of the world. And dont srt your excuses and criticsm in wat i write

Rooney is a liability not an asset. Your press is taking the P off you, it is not not only Rooney -- that "Rooney is as good as Pele", and that Rooney last year was already worth 50 million Pounds etc etc and you guys BUY this press cr_p. And last week that Germany was "RUNNING SCARED OF ENGLAND and two days ago Beckham said after their win against... LOL Trinidad & Tobago !! HUH ? "we are not bothered who we face next", he said LOL, exactely what he said in 2000 and then lost against Portugal 3-2.

BigPete 767 - your flag must be TINY!
It is a nice thought, and yes, we did seem to do better without him. Maybe we have all over rated the lad - let's remember that although he's shown promise, he's never scored in a world cup game.

I certainly agree with you. He has a sense of entitlement and an anger he needs to manage. I don't think England would have won either way but just for argument sake, it was his fault England lost and you deserve your reimbursement.:-)
He certainly has become arrogant in a short while. I could continue to rant about his sense of entitlement but I will leave that to you. You have accomplished it in your question/statement.
