Abortion is murder. If you don't want the baby there is always adoption. Alot of people in this world would love to have a baby and can't. Don't kill an innocent human, instead give someone else the chance to be a parent. And by the way by the time you find out your pregnant your baby can feel pain. Do research on abortion before you make the biggest mistake in your life. You will carry so much guilt and regret for the rest of your life if you have a soul.(armygirl2675@yahoo)

I believe it is wrong for several reasons.
1) The baby is a person, so it is, in fact murder. At conception, the baby has it's own DNA and blood type. By the time a woman find out she is pregnant, the baby already has it's own arms, legs and a heartbeat. At 9 weeks he/she can feel pain. The Baby can be born at 4 months and survive. The skeleton is formed in the second month. You cannot tell me that child is not a person, it is, and he/she has just as much right to live as you and me. Ergo, I think abortion at any stage of pregnancy is wrong unless the LIFE (not health, which can mean anything) of the mother is truely at risk.
2) While I am a little more on the fence when it comes to rape and incest, the fact is that less than 1% of abortions each year are results of these.
3) The are many consequences of abortion on the mother as well as on the baby. During the abortion the mother can hemorrhage, the uterus can be punctured or tore (both of the these can result in the removal of the uterus, meaning no more kids even if the woman wants them), and infection ranging from mild to fatal. Long-term it can also result in severe guilt and depression, miscarriages, premature delivery because of damage to the cervix and tubal pregnancies.
4) "Nor shall any State deprive any PERSON of life, liberty or property without due process of law; nor deny any PERSON within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." 14th Amendment of the Constitution, Section 1 (emphasis added)
5) 98% of doctors take the Hippocratic oath. Part of this oath is swearing to not intentionally do harm. Abortion most definitely qualifies as "doing harm," therefore for any doctor who performs an abortion is violating an oath. I don't know about you, but that's not the kind of person I would want treating me.

President Clinton said it best on a secular, political level(the scope and appropiatness of such response) when he said Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.
Some years ago, there was a Colorado Governor(1985) named Richard lamm wko confronted with the price tag of carinf for the elderly and infirm suggested the elderly "have a duty to die".
When John Paul the 2nd wrote so passionately about life and the INNATE dignity EVERY human soul has, he was fighting against a world where the culture of death, throwing and discardind the sick, elderly, and infirm he was a voice in the wilderness against a society such as ours that blindly channel surfs through war, famine, and disease as if they could protect themselves from the ticking clock of man's immortality through out of sight out of mind.
The reason I give people when they ask me why im a catholic is the church is intellectually consistent on all matters relating to life, liberty, and human dignity.
Best Regards now and Always,

Angela ... God loathes abortion? You sure now? The Bible also talks about sacrificing the first born to God .. maybe God changes as we go along ... :) Personally I think early abortions are OK, eventhough abortions is nothing one undertakes for the fun of it ... late abortions, especially when the fetus would be viable if delivered by section, is a trickier question ... I couldn't in conscience go along with that ... if you want an abortion, have it early!!!

I am a democrat and do not approve of abortions. I feel that I have the right to tell my family members of this and do my best to convince them not to have one.
I do not feel I have the right to give your child permission or deny her right to live by forcing my beliefs upon her. Abortion should be handled by the individual, the family and the individuals relationship to her religious corporation.
The government has too many laws in place today that dictate how we conduct our private lives. The Repubs keep telling us they're "all for less government" then they turn around and try to impose more laws that force us to live by their religious superstitions.
LESS GOVERNMENT MEANS LESS GOVERNMENT.... ya hearing this "W"?
Sidenote to Fatsausage: Good point well spoken.

I do not believe in abortion. It is a moral issue. However, if I found out I was pregnant as a result of a violent rape, I would seriously consider it. Abortion from the result of bed hopping, I don't agree with. There are alot of people in the world who can not have children. Why don't they consider adoption? I think alot of girls have them, because they are afraid what their parents will say. Most families will help. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AFRAID OF YOUR PARENTS!!!!!
Sorry, for the length.

I've said it once and I'll say it again... Everyone is pro life no one is against life. being pro choice (which I am BTW) just means that women and couples she have the right to make a choice. smart people know that bringing a child into the world when you are unable to take care of it may not be a very good idea. bottom line keep you religious judgment out of my law books!

Abortion is always right. It is a tool used by God to fulfill his purpose. Abortion is not called murder in the Bible and those that say otherwise should consider:
Deuteronomy 18:20-22
20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."
21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
Jeremiah 23:30-32
30 "Therefore," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31 Yes," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, 'The LORD declares.' 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," declares the LORD. "They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least," declares the LORD.
It is a sin for you to continue to tell people that Abortion is wrong. God calls for you to be put to death for falsely presuming to speak his name in support of the pro life movement. No where in the Bible does God say that abortion is murder. In fact God uses abortion through out the Bible to bring about his will.
I can explain abortion to any person able to understand. I cannot explain it to a Dog, Cat, or closed mind.
God is the inventor of abortion. Presumably God uses miscarriage as abortion to expel from a woman's body a fetus that he chooses not to bring to term. God does this service for all animals, not just humans. And God loves these animals and man when he chooses to abort their fetus. For man, God is capable of giving eternal life in exchange for any child, fetus or man that he takes. This is his eternal love for us.
God arranged things such that no man lives longer than 150 years, then his time is up and he is also offered eternal life. So God offers eternal spiritual life in exchange for death.
And God chooses which fetuses will be aborted. God has infinite power and can choose to eliminate the possibility of abortion and force the birth of any child he chooses. He does this with other animals and he states in the Bible that he is an all powerful God. He is that powerful.
If you abort a child that God wants to live, he can simply transfer that life to another person. It does not mean that you made a wrong choice or that God must live with that Choice. I don't think God would allow Christ’s next coming to be stopped by an abortion that he condones.
Can a person commit an abortion against God's will? Yes. And it would be sin committed under our Free Will.
Evidence shows that many miscarried fetuses are malformed. And others are perfect. So we know that God does not use simply malformation as the basis for abortion. God must use other information. For example, God may know that a person is simply not ready for a child. Or the person may not be able to support a child. Or the child may have been born out of wedlock. Or that another person should raise the soul that he has placed in one person. And there are thousands of other reasons that God may have chosen abortion or miscarriage. One thing is certain; God did not choose "life". Some of us will die before birth and for none of us will live after 150 years of living.
What God teaches through abortion is that there are reasons for man to have abortion. And in the long run God teaches that these reasons make the world a better place.
I believe that a person should pray to God if there is any chance that an abortion is needed for any of the reasons above, or no reason. If God says that it is right, then it cannot be wrong. And anyone that says otherwise is going against God's will. Simply ask yourself if all humans that were ever born were still here today, would the Earth be a better place. I think not. Death is a part of God's plan and it makes his Kingdom a better place; as does eternal life for those who have served God’s purpose.
I hope that you are able to understand the need and purpose of abortion and will not fall into the beliefs of the false prophets that preach the Pro-Life anti God line.
If you have more questions please ask.

"Life begins at conception and begins at birth." Representative Barney Frank, on abortion.
The fact is, to be pro-choice is to say, either have the child or abort it. To be pro-life is to say, you have no choice. I am against habitual abortion or the use of it as a birth control method. I believe it should be used under special circumstance, such as rape, or obvious knowledge of the suffering the child will have to go through, financially or medically. Any reason other than those is a crime, and is just murdering a child. Those reasons are better for the child. What would you rather, aborting a child, or letting it live, letting it suffer? Sending it from foster house to foster house, living with people who abuse them, neglect them, beat them, molest them, rape them? Letting a child you knew would suffer from extreme deformaty live the rest of their lives asking themselves or asking God, "Why me?" or better yet, "Why didn't she abort me?" Taking care of the evidence, the product of your rape, a living reminder of what happened to you that you beat, starve, and torment until you get tired and drown them when they ARE very much alive? Even allowing them to live knowing their parents didn't want them, stuck in a federal system with no one who loves them, just people who like them, feel sorry for them, want them for their own sick purposes, or are just stuck with them?
