You're not supposed to, but I see books with bookmarks in them.

No. If they read the whole book without purchasing, that's stealing. I can understand reading "some" of a book to see whether it's what you are looking for, but Barnes N Noble is a business, not a library. BnN exists to make a profit. If everyone did this, there'd be no BnN. If I worked at BnN and found a book with a bookmark in it, I'd take it out. Thieves make me mad. The people who pay (like me) have to pay higher prices because of them. I :<
PS I don't steal music off the Internet either.

I go there to get stuff out of computer books. I write down tips on things like how to make my machine run faster, or how to run my media center to get more fun out of it.
If I bought all those books, I would have spent a couple hundred dollars. But now I get a lot of the same kind of info off Yahoo Answers in the computer category.
Why do you ask? Do you work for B&N?

I'm afraid I'm guilty as charged ... have on a couple of occasions gone in looking for a book, found another one that looked interesting ... opening it just to see if it was as good as it looked ... started to read .... you know the story ... :)
