There's a Springfield in New Brunswick, Canada. It's very small, even smaller than the Springfield on The Simpsons.

There are two reasons why the writers of the Simpsons called the town they live in "Springfield"
#1. Its an homage to the "Guiding Light" Television Series, the long running soap opera on CBS
#2. Almost every state, if not every state in the United States has a county, city or town called Springfield. Hence, its "everytown", in the same traditonal vein that some theater is written from the character perspective of the "everyman"
*see Chief O'Brien, originally on Star Trek TNG, later his character was given a first name and depth*

There are 20 Springfields in the U.S. I think that's why Matt Groening picked Springfield as the name of the town the Simpsons live in.

Yes, there is. The Simpsond is cast in one of the Spingfields around this here United States. Problem is, they never show what Springfield it is. And the writers are not telling. And remember, it's a fictional account of whatver Spingfield it is in. But I'm sure if you can recall that Halloween episode where Homer clones himself and the clones run amoke and the govermnet is showing how fast they'll pop up around the country, they start in the state they are in and pop up. And if you pause it in the right place, I'm sure you can find the state.

I both agree and disagree. for sure i'm getting the position you're coming from, as a Jew. In academic circles, each from time to time Christian theologians do dispense with this old, triumphalist, insulting nomenclature. those who care and who favor to be precise and well mannered say "Hebrew bible" or somesuch. Objectively speaking, notwithstanding, Christians get to call their scriptures inspite of they prefer, or to believe that Christianity superceded Judaism in the experience that they prefer. As a useful remember, "old testomony" and "new testomony" will genuinely be the known way they discuss with the Hebrew and Christian bibles for something else of my lifetime. inspite of if it makes me wince anytime I listen it.
