Not a craft, but back when I was in college, I found the 8-oz yogurt cups (does yogurt even COME in 8-oz cups anymore?!) held exactly one load's worth of powdered laundry detergent. Very handy when I was schlepping my clothes down up and down two flights of stairs to the dorm laundromat!

use a paper punch and make a hole about 1/2 to inch from the top
string a length of yarn through the hole and knot
then tie a extra small wiffle type ball to the other end of the yarn and then give it to a child to try to swing the ball into the cup
they love it and is very good for eye-hand coordination

If they're th small ones, they make great popsicle molds you can put in the freezer, or else If they're the bigger ones, with the help of super glue and a bit of imagination, they can be a creative piggy bank!
