I have found that thinking about others always helps you to feel less sorry for yourself and issues in your life. I have found through personal experiences that If I do this that even the worst times of my life melt away. I am a poor person and often don't have a slice of bread to share with anyone. BUT no matter how low the food if I have company I share and I have found that in the end something happens where my food is replaced with more than what I gave away. One day the neighbor lady and her family were packed to leave. I went over to help her out. She had a mess and had to stop everything to make something for the children and her to eat. I told her to keep packing and I would take the kids to my place and feed them. My husband and I had very little left to eat. I didn't worry about it. I made them ea. a baked potato and a small salad and made the same for their mother who by now was exhausted. The next day she was getting ready to leave. Before she did she brought several big boxes of stuff over. After we said our good byes and she drove off I looked in the boxes. I fell on my knees thanking God for covering my needs. Both boxes were packed with all her food. She was supposed to be taking it, and at the last minute changed her mind.

I have been badly depressed over things feeling totally hopeless. All of a sudden I would see where I was needed and would respond. Before I knew it I had forgotten it. By the time it came to mind again I was no longer distraught.

We should always think of others first.........When we do God covers our needs spiritually, physically, emotionally etc. We will never regret putting others first. There are great blessings in it.

We do need to be careful about being just used by people .... That is always a threat. We need to learn good judgement when thinking of others.

It depends on the situation. But I would say that there has to be a balance between thinking about yourself and other people. I don't want to sound selfish, but If you think about other people way more than yourself, than what is the self you have to give to society? Do things for yourself and you're also giving to the greater good by becoming a more fulfilled person who can share your experience and knowledge with others.

It's according to what context you're talking about. Don't give away all your money so you can't live or pay your bills. If you're really wanting to help people and you have a little money after paying your bills and feeding your family, go get a pair of gloves for the homeless person in the city or something of that nature.lso, it is true about loving yourself before you can truely love someone else. You must also forgive yourself of your past before you can truely forgive others.
