You should really back up and think this through...there will come a day when you want to resell that house..if you use floor coverings that are really way out there (and this idea is way out there), you will end up losing money on the sale of the house. You cannot possibly tile a floor more cheaply than with many of the tiles you can find at home depot...as low as 0.88 per sq foot, and many of these tiles are porcelain...a very good buy for a very good tile.

I believe your idea to use "pavers" as your indoor flooring, not a good one. No offense. Believe me, you can get some great deals on tile, at a whole lot of places. The Home Depot, Lowes and may other home improvement stores, carry great deal everyday on their tile flooring. Please look into it, you will be pleased with what you can get with a small budget. Good luck, El Toro Malo. Consider buying some second hand tile, it's cheap, if you don't mind some imperfections.

There are many stone floor options, common stones for the kitchen floor include granite, marble, slate, tavertine and soapstone.
All of these require cement board backing and you can add an electrical ambient heating kit to keep the floors warm.

The stepping stones and pavers are not durable and resisitent to stain which you will need in the kitchen. Try tiling with these stone options and you will be pleased with the result.

No! The weight would be way too much. When they build a house, their is something called live load---people, furniture, etc and dead load - which is the actual structure of the house, walls, roofs, floors. When you go and out somehting like that in your house, you are playing over time with the structural integrity.
If you really feel that you want to do that, get in an architect and get someone to check out the structure of your house and make sure that in 10 years you are not going to find your house collapsing.

The Stones have so many great hit songs that it is difficult to single one out. If I had to just choose one it would probably be "I can't get no satisfaction", released in 1965. The reason? It has all the hallmarks of the best of the Stones - a memorable riff, great vocals and a pounding beat.

That would be too heavy unless you live on a slab. Pavers are usually think because they are sunken into the ground.
Why not terra cotta tiles?

yes theres companies that dye and polish concrete even cut fancy paterns in it if u want --u might even could do the dying part yourself -if the foundation is level and smooth-----------which i dought very seriously but get few quotes and you ll never have to replace it---i just saw the paver and stone part ---why not just have the foundation dyed and sealed -and u already paid for it

Yes,
You need to have special ones though. Just plain concrete does not handle soap, cooking fat, juice or scratching very well.

i wouldnt recommend it not be their to heavy and will eventually break and crack but also because they absorb to much moisture and will end up causing mold in your house.
