i found a 1988 bmw 735il for 1200 and everything is in great condition except it needs a trans. how much would it be? and how much would it be to install it?

the trans will cost you around $4500 in parts and $1500 in labor at a bmw dealership, i know, i work in the parts department of a bmw dealer.

Check with a local transmission shop as that is one job you do not want to do by yourself. the average American car would be $1000.00 - $1500.00. I suspect the bmw will be much higher.

a tranny can be up to 2000 dollars and then you have to get someone who knows how to put it in they are quite complicated for a bmw it will cost a lot
