good things about the eminent domain?

eminent domain's primary purpose is economical and social improvement but many times the govt - especially the local govts involved will abuse the power given to them and not compensate land and/or property owners at a fair market value.. so as long as this sort of abuse is closely monitored and curbed, eminent domain can be a useful concept! for further reading, review kelo vs city of new london case

There could be several answers but eminent domain allows a public body to do projects in the public interest that involve the use of private land. Highways, lakes, public buildings, parks and the like are often built on what has been privately owned land.

There are some resources that are to valuable to allow to fall into public hans, free of any and all regulation, and nine times out of ten will end up costing the taxpayer more money as the private sector is unable or unwilling to meet minimum standards of competence.

It would benefit the majority of the people, the greater good. It would also re-vitalize areas that otherwise wouldn't be able to be re-vitalized.
