I like the iRiver Clix for its design and features, the Sandisk Sansa e200 series mainly for its ease of use, and the Gigabeat S for both the size and support for Vongo.
The iRiver Clix looks sleek and has more features than the ones listed below. It only comes in 2GB, and supports MTV's new URGE music service.
The Sandisk Sansa e200 line is very good. I got one in March. It's the size of a Nano, but a bit thicker. It supports videos, photos, FM radio, and FM & voice recording. It comes in 2GB, 4GB, 6GB, and is very durable.
Tip: It's on sale for $150 for the 2GB, $190 for the 4GB at Circuit City. You get x2 the space of the respective Nano.
If you need a lot of storage, get the Toshiba Gigabeat S. It's a bit thicker than the iPod Video, but it's smaller in every other way.
It's got video and supports Starz Vongo. (a movie rental service).
It holds 30GB and 60GB, about 15,000 and 30,000 songs.
All of these are PlaysForSure compatible meaning you can use it with Napster, Napster to Go, Rhapsody, Rhapsody to Go, Yahoo! Unlimited, etc.

I think you should check out the Creative Zen Vision, it plays video just like Ipod, but the Creative has way more features on it than the Ipod. The creative has the Fm Recorder and Fm Tuner, an Organzier, a voice recorder, and the battery that comes with the Zen doesnt have to be sent to the factory to be replaced once it dies like you have to do with Ipod. If you know where to look this thing is cheaper than an ipod. I think that ipods are overpriced, and overated. You should get the Creative instead, the quality is also better.
Good luck Choosing

I've heard really good things about Creative's mp3 players, one of which plays videos as well.

ipod is well-known by the 'brand' itself.(It has to be as they have been spending so much money on the advertisement! hehe)
Creative mp3 is pretty good tho & your might want to check it out.
I have Sony NW-HD5 and the only thing I dislike about it is transfering data/songs into it. I must have the software in order to do it. Inconvenience & not flexible I must say. :(

I like my Phillips. IPods cost too much and it limits the programs you can use with it. Down with IPod!!!
