Everyone should know the wealthiest man is Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, but I have no idea about the woman.
A quick internet search says Teresa Heinz Kerry is 'one of the wealthiest woman in the world', at 500 million, this from CBS news. A few others were also mentioned.

Bill Gates (microsoft founder) and
Warren Buffet (Stock Market Investor)
are both near $30-35 billion depending on stock valuations of their holdings.. they occasionally flip-flop from 1st to 2nd from week to week on the listings.
It's hard to imagine that $30 billion would give a million bucks to 30,000 people.. Would't it be nice to stand in the middle of THAT line :)
