Hey...my CD with my new MB says to go on the internet and download info for BIOS reconfiguring...which I have never done.
Question is...once I go on to the internet, should I throw up a quick firewall...and are there any other pitfalls I am not seeing?...Flying blind, though doing everything in safe mode. Am I right to assume I need to update all the new drivers, do various diagnostics, go through all the Windows updates? Now that I have Windows open, any important mistakes I need to not make?
Thanks!

If you have windows running, you must have done everything right. 8-) You don't have to stay in safe mode. If a device is wiorking, I would not go looking for new drivers. Driver updates sometimes break things.

As soon as you are on the network, get yourself some antivirus software and run a firewall, even if it's only Microsoft's.

I would recommend uopgrading to SP2 as quickly as possible, there are a lot of security fixes in there. If yoru network lik\nk is slow, Microsoft will mail it to you on a CD for free

If it's installed properly, nothing should go wrong.
