I mean some misspelled words could be a typo. Are some times people just prefer to use "Y" instead of why, "bcuz" instead of because. That doesn't mean they can't spell. I mean I understand when its so bad you can't read the question , but sometimes its an accident.

Because spelling is a class you take in elementary school. If you haven't mastered it by the time you're in middle or high school, then yes, stupidity is certainly one of your characteristics.

Consider this, you learn your multiplication tables in elementary school. So if you were to ask someone over 15 what 9 x 9 equalled, wouldn't you think that person was a bit dense if they didn't say 81?

As for shortening words like "bcos" or "y", that's not stupidity, that's just laziness.

I understand what you mean. Sometimes it is just a slight typo, or a very minor misspelling. But sometimes I find questions that are so horribly misspelled that you can't understand any of the words. Those are the worst ones.

Because it either shows that the person doesn't pay attention to what they are doing (mistype), doesn't pay attention to the correct way of spelling things in the first place (mispell), or because they're so enraptured with internet lingo that they use ridiculous abbreviations.

Any / all of the above would be a sign of someone who doesn't spend too much time thinking.

I don't think that a lot of people realize that a lot of the answers on here are from folks whose first language is not english. I personally give them a lot of credit. I know i can't speak any foreign language and can just barely speak mine.

You can even spell misspell? You can't even use the "check spelling" feature? Are you stupid or lazy, I can't tell!

In private correspondence you may make spelling mistakes, but at work... I hope you guess what I imply?
