It is thought that Venus rotates in the direction opposite to its initial one. Its rotation slowed and Venus attracted its own sattelite (like Moon around Earth). The collision made it to rotate differently.

In the next 5 Million years. The moon has not stopped on its axis. The moon rotates with the earth.
