When you peel off the top layer of skin, all you are doing is taking off the top dead layer of dried up skin, due to the sun. The skin underneath will still be very burnt, but it will tan.....usually takes about 4-5 days to start tanning after a burn. Peeling usually begins right after a tan starts to develop.

First of all, when you get sunburned DO NOT peel it off. Make sure to put aloe on the burn(s) and let it take effect. Once the aloe has had enough time (I'm talking days here...apply three to four times a day!) to help the burn to heel, you should have a tan within about four to five days. I wouldn't recommend going out and getting a sunburn just to get a 'nice' tan though. Why not try over the counter stuff, like Neutrogena? They sell sunless tanning sprays over the counter that actually look real. There are many other good brands out there too. But, DO NOT peel the sunburn off your skin. It will just lead to scarring later on. Please take this advice!

No, sunburn is literally skin that has been burned. Similar to throwing boiling hot water over yourself. The skin that you see underneath is just new skin growing and, although it might look a different colour once replenshished it will return to its original colour. If I were you, and you are desperate for a tan buy some fake stuff. Better still enjoy your paleness. After all beauty is only skin deep.

First of all SPF30 and higher should be worn before going out in the sun to avoid sunburn in the first instance.
Should you get a sunburn you should come out of the sun straightaway and stay out of it until the burn subsides. Lavendar 100% pure essential oil can be applied to the burn. This will take the sting out of the burn. Use this added to After Sun for the next few days. NEVER attempt to peel off skin over any burn as scarring or worse still infection can occur.
