Thank you everyone ! except 'lil'sammy'.
How can you even defend that slimy sleazy cheater. If you watched the England matches you would see usually we dont run straight to the ref like little sad bum kissers to get what we want.
Shallow? How can we be shallow? The only shallow person i'm seeing is the one that will be hated for life -> Ronaldo.
All we want is justice for that scumbag(with the clear wink and smile).
And actually I dont support Man United, but it would be nice to see some support from them.
That is why England rules because we show loyalty and support to ur teams. If that is seen as shallow then I'm shallow, but then all the people who have agreed with me are also shallow.
LETS ALL UNITE IN SHALLOWNESS TO ENSURE THAT PERSON IS BOOED FOR LIFE =D

Thanks to everyone that agrees. See we arent being sore losers as we know that the match has been and gone, we just want to know that Ronaldo was in the wrong --> that you cannot deny. The fact he denied his motivates later on was pure lies. Why deny it?

By the way if Man U is to drop anyone from their team, who do you seriously think it would be? A simple fall back which can easily be replaced-->or a star striker which is very hard to come by? Hard choice really isnt it?

Yes Man U want him but do the majority of the fans? Simple answer NO!
I am and so are all the other people who have answered this question are entitled to our opinions, so your opinion is no higher or lower than mine or anyone elses for that matter, so you cannot say mine is pathetic.
Have you actually noticed how long ago this question was asked? So i am not bringing up old stuff as this was asked straightaway after the England defeat.
England although not at their best still played okay. At least they had the bottle to stay surfaced above ground for most of the games! Players like Hargreaves played fantastically - the best in his life really, so even if England didnt play well, you cannot but down the individual play of some of these players. Yes they need to improve, but we will all (except a small proportion)still love them.
WE LOVE YOU STILL ENGLAND!

I completely agree with you, i think some European nations don't bring up there kids with the same morals and principles as the English or the British an Englishman would not be able to walk around with his head up after carrying on like Ronaldo yet the Portuguese seem to think it was good what he did and that he didn't really do anything wrong. I would rather lose and play our way than have to cheat to get a result.

I understand that England fans are dissapointed, but give me a break with your ridiculous crap. If you morons were real Man U fans you would want the best team on the pitch at all times.....no question about it you are better with Ronaldo. If you don't think so, then we will take him. Then Chelsea will beat you 4 times rather than just 3 like last year. Was he a prick for winking, ya, but that doesn't change the fact that England lost because they got out played. Rooney needs to get himself under control on the pitch and he will play the full 90. Ronaldo is not a referee and has no power to card anyone. Sense you all feel the need to point the blame somewhere other than your players, then blame the ref.

Putting his ties to Manchester United aside, Cristiano Ronaldo was simply playing faithfully for his national team. He did what he did as a Portuguese player, not a Manchester United player. Emphasizing the opposing team member's foul in hopes of increasing your own country's chance of winning the game is very understandable when you have the thought of progressing to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Sure, the wink was less than admirable and demonstrated Ronaldo's poor sportsmanship, but that small act does not make it okay for England fans go around inciting hatred against the brilliant young soccer player that just happens to be a star member in one of the most prestigious teams of the nation. I'm pretty sure Rooney would have equaled or maybe even outdone Ronaldo if the situation was different and the players were switched. After all, it was Rooney's bad temper and lack of control that led to his red card, leading England to a disadvantage in the game.

k guys, can you really blame another player for getting someone else a red card? rooney is responsible for his actions, did he not injure another player? do i think ronaldo is responsible for getting him a red card? to a certain point, yes but i dont think that he should shoulder all the blame. do you not think that the ref should be neutral and not make decisions based on one players argument? a player should not be able to sway a refs decision. i think that the real problem is that there is only one ref, and its that one ref that makes all the decisions in the game. i think that rooney's red card was a definite overkill, but with more refs who have to make a collective decision, this wouldnt have happened. we wouldnt be getting the most ridiculous penalty calls because the ref cant see what actually happened cause he was at the other end of the field, and we wouldnt have players who could influence a call. so if you feel the need to blame someone, whatever you say, rooney does have a responsibility for his actions, but so do the ref and the league rules where the penalties are far too severe for the offense.

i cant believe this. for your info, im a die hard manchester united fan. i almost cried when i saw the looks on neville and rio's face... but i dont see why ronaldo should be blamed. yes, rooney's red card was harsh. but its also true that the card could have been prevented. (ie: if rooney controlled his temper) ronaldo was only talking on behalf of the portuguese team, seeing his team mate go down in pain. if u were playing in the world cup for your country, u'd do the same! if ronaldo was the one who fouled an english player, rooney might have done the same! i cant believe u peoplee... u guys are so shallow. and such a sore loser. and this has nothing to do with man utd. if man u is gonna make him an enemy becuz of this, so be it! ronaldo could definitely find a better football career else where! then again, im sure the other man u fans arent as shallow as you...

The english are very funny, they talk about cheating and that they are very honest, with a lot of respect for the game and bla, bla, bla!
To me that's all BS big one, you live every day in the past talking about games 50 and 40 years old because those were the times when the english were important in the world of football. now only the clubs with foreign manegers and players actually get some respect out of the UK. All of this to say that you are sore loosers that blame the others for your one mistakes. the english team is not as good as you all think. they always come short in major tournaments. blame the sorry team that you have, they are weak, no good, whack players that think they are something. blame the fat kid that look's like a stuffed pig with a bad foot, sorry for all this but see u next time (if you get there). i defend Cristiano Ronaldo any time you want and don't even like him that much, but to me the english are even worst! peace out

I am from England and I have no problems whatsoever with Cristiano Ronaldo. He should be free to choose where to play - free from any hatred or threats. The recent attacks on his property and character is extremely harsh, and only adds fuel to the belief that English fans are troublemakers.
If Ronaldo does choose to play at Manchester United next season, I hope that everyone can put the world cup behind them, and give Ronaldo a chance.

Complaining Ronaldo. Ball-holding Deco. Head-butting Figo. Every Dutch fan and every British fan rejoice - France has sent them home. Netherlands outplayed Portugal, England dominated Portugal a man down. Portugal doesn't deserve to be in a final or even close.
Go sit and cry at home Cristiano.
(BTW, I'm not English or Dutch either just a fan of good honest soccer ... Forza Italia)

You're trying to find an escape goat?
Blame Rooney!
You're a sore looser!!
Ronaldo is a good player.
In fact, he's a extraordinary player!
Even you must accept that Cristiano is defending his country's colors and that his performance has nothing to do with the fact he's a Manchester United player.
If he had done a bad game it wouldn't have been professional like.
And he is a professional!
Grow up and get over it!
Go, Portugal!

I think youre being too hard on C.Ronaldo! He isnt really to blame. He was only trying to help his "stomped on" fellow teammate. Rooney deserved that red card and more!.He is one spoilt brat. Similar to alot of those English thugs who call themselves football fans.
In fact he reminds me of one.He has the looks to make it. So please dont go on and on about how we all should boo C.Ronaldo for what he did .What he did I would have done to protect my fellow player. Get over it for pete's sake. This world cup is over and done with.England lost in the PSO.They should concentrate in improving themselves in penalty shootouts!!They should stop pretending to be "stars" and start playing some real football. Then we might see some real worthy results by 2010!
By the way..Man U still wants C.Ronaldo around. Didnt you read that?! Or are you still hell bent on hating him?
Your viewpoint is simply pathetic!!
Stand back and look at your posting once again.
