I like both shows, but the simpsons is way ahead of family guy. The simpsons is intelligent and isnt afraid to make fun of itself. The family guy is forced to rely on fart jokes and just plain stupidity. without the simpsons there would be no family guy.

Family guy is okay for adults--but I think the Simpsons are the best all around.

damn..it is hard to choose. umm..i like simpsons for when i need my political satire and wanna see them make fun of some president of american tradition that makes no sense. it is more for the smarter person ;)
family guy..is just outrageous and hilarious. i like how out there they are in their jokes. but peter is pretty annoying. i only like when they make fun of him. other than that, the show is awesome too. got addicted to it recently...
