Lies, no matter how good it feels, ultimately hurt. Truth, sometimes may hurt, particularly in the beginning, but is always enlightening and relieving. And i am very sure ;-))

Out of context, it is a difficult question to answer. In general the truth is always the best path. However, there are times when the truth serves no purpose and a lie eases the way for others. Knowing when is obviously the difficult part.

How the truth is stated is also a part of decision making. Telling the truth, but doing so with a good “bedside manner” can be as important as telling the truth.

truth and get hurt. Why? because since it's a lie, maybe one day there's a risk of knowing the truth and get hurt even more : lied already and then you know that the truth is also painful... It's worse you see.. So better know the truth and let the pain go as soon as possible ^^ truth hurts a while, lies remain. remember

i'd rather hear the truth and deal with the blow on the spot than hear a lie and feel good at the moment. because if i hear a lie and find out, eventually, that it's a lie, it would hurt me more than the truth would.

If I had the choice, I would choose the truth, because if someone gave you those two options, even though you knew the lie would sound good, you would also know it was still a lie, and that would hurt more than a harsh truth.

If someone chose to lie to me, and I didn't know it was a lie, I would be happy with that. Ignorance is bliss, is it not?

you know how it is...lies don't get you far... if someone tells you a lie, you feel good, but you will eventually find the truth, and it's gonna hurt more...
with truth you can see where you did wrong , make it better next time and so on... a lie, you feel good, you find out the truth, you feel worse than ever, next time it'll be the same.
truth is better...my thought

I would rather hear the truth. It may hurt, but it will give me the opportunity to take a good look at myself and see if I feel it is true. If it is true then I have the opportunity to change it. If I feel it is false, then it doesn't hurt anymore.

A truth, regardless of how much it hurt. Every time a lie is told, a part of the universe is destroyed.

I want the truth until I hear it at which time I want the more comfortable lie.

I guess it would depend on my mood and what the truth or lie was about. Something that was meant to be harmful would better be left unsaid. A useful criticism is always good.
