you could write a book about addiction to drugs, smoking, alcohol, over eating, or any combination of those. i had to write a one page story on that topic and i could just barley tell it in 3 (typed)! there are plenty of ways to tell a story about that. and if you have (or had) a friend that had an addiction(or still has) you could write about that. just use differant names in your book.

The usual procedure is to have an idea and then write a book based on that idea . Not "I think I'll write a book, what shall I write about"?
Try writing your autobiography, what have you done in your life? if nothing then make somethings up that you wish you had done and pretend they are actually true.
Why do I have this feeling that you will get fed up with this project in a week or two and move onto another idea??
Good luck if you do go for it!

A writer's writng must be able to empathise with the readers and vice versa. This is possible when his writings are close to his/someone else's life experiences. Here he doesnt have to compromise on anything.Real life is stranger than fiction.Every person is a formidable character-not necessarily a villain or an evil but a grey shaded person.A writer should be therefore able to put his thoughts into his own styled words--closest to readers minds/target readers.Think.Write.About ur own life expereinces,to begin with?Or if u are too young to have experienced life,u could write about 'a writer's dilemma' to write anything worthwhile!

Write a story about a football team made up from Scottish people, who qualified for the World Cup and won. Very fictional, and very novel. You'd need a great imagination to write it though.

How can you think about writing a novel until you have an idea. look around you, get an idea and write a short story.

The idea of writing a novel yourself it to .. erm .. write it yourself!

If you're asking other people then you'll probably have to pay them for their ideas and/or input.

Sit down and have a good think about what YOU want to write, not what other people want you to write. It's YOUR novel.

Good luck though and I'd be more than happy to read it before you publish it and give you my honest opinions.

I think your best inspiration comes from using one of your own ideas. You write best when you are really familiar with your subject matter. What are your hobbies? Be specific. That might lead you to write something for us all to enjoy.

this is a serious thing, not something you do for fun. i don't think the subject is very important, the more important is the way you write it. if it's any good, then it doesn't need a great idea.

chances are...if you don't have an original idea of your own...you won't be able to write a book about the topic.
